Check out “NHL, union reach tentative agreement” at http://sports.yahoo.com/news/mediation-nhl-talks-continue-saturday-090222663–nhl.html Bout time since the players and owners basically robbed the people who really stood by them after the last lockout. They should be concerned that the majority of the fan base is so disenfranchised that they may never come back just when the NHL was really making headway

About Woody Bass

Woody Bass is a freelance blogger who writes about politics, current events and generally anything he finds ignorant, stupid or totally out of line. There is nothing he wont say or write about so long as it is the truth and what he truly believes - with a few smartass remarks thrown in for good measure. Smart ass is what Woody does best. Don’t go looking for any extreme “right” or “leftist” thinking though. Woody is able to step back, look at the “big picture” and provide a moderate/centrist observation on the matter. Woody was formerly a blogger for the Atlanta Journal Constitution - Gwinnett News for 3 years. http://www.ajc.com/yournorcross Woody was born in Orlando, Florida and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1986. He is a ‘rabid Gator fan’ and loves nothing more than to annoy as many fans of “that team from Athens, Ga” as possible.

For a sport trying to expand its reach into new market areas, two lockouts so close together doesn’t seem to be an effective marketing tool. I would venture to say that not only fans are disgusted, but those who might have had some interest have gone on to other things and networks are probably thinking “Glad we don’t cover the NHL”.
