This story reminds me of a similar incident I  back when I was a young SmartAss at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida.  They had a great choir… I enjoyed it… thats about the only reason I went at all.

One evening, a few others my age were gathered into the cafeteria area to watch a video.  The video was of an actual abortion.  The intent, I am sure, was to show us the horrors of what happens during an abortion.  The video did not hide anything.  It showed the tube being inserted into the uterus, followed by scalpel and basically the fetus being mutilated and then sucked out by a vacuum.

To this day… I have an aversion to abortion.  I hope like hell people choose adoption over abortion, but I have grown up and taken a “Pro-choice” stance… although not as its presently defined. (thats another blog for another day).

My point of mentioning this is… the Catholic Church showed me exactly what they wanted me to see.  For the most part, they also got me to mostly agree with their position on abortion.

I am betting.. the Pastor showed his audience the worst gay sex has to offer.  It probably included the most perverse and extreme of sexual acts.  Acts that can probably be found in straight porn by the way. But who said organized religion was ever “objective” at anything?

This was all to support hate and fear in the form of an anti-homosexual bill in Uganda which would issue life imprisonment.. or even the death penalty… for being gay.

He wanted to paint homosexuals in as negative a light as he possibly could and completely avoided any notion of tenderness, love or even monogamous relationships.  Nope.. his whole intent was to show that homosexuals are perverts and pure evil to perpetrate violence.

In other words, he didn’t want his audience to know .. the truth.  Its people like this Pastor who are supposed to be preaching peace, love and goodwill to man… when all they are really preaching is hate, division, violence and fear.
