Love these theories running about lately about where if we just ya know… add more guns… that solves all these problems.
Now.. as 11Alive reports, the Georgia Legislature is actually considering legislation to allow students to carry weapons on campus.
Umm… Just yesterday at Lone Star College… two students both had weapons… innocent bystandards were injured from crossfire.
Thankfully no lives were lost… but.. how’d adding more guns work out in that situation? Exactly. And it could have been much worse.
Whats even scarier… is some students actually want this legislation to pass:
“You’d be allowed to strap on your gun the way you would in other environments, and carry it with you around campus, just as you would elsewhere around the state,” said Robert Eagar, a Georgia Tech student and Chairman of “Georgia Tech Students for Concealed Carry on Campus.”
and I particularly love this quote:
“‘Campus carry’ will be a great deterrent to crime,” Wilkins said, “because criminals don’t want armed targets, they want something easy” to attack.
Really? I dont think they that is going to be much of a factor.. just as we saw in Texas just yesterday. How exactly is the bad guy gonna know you do or dont have a gun anyway? Do you really think they are gonna say … “Hey..do you have a gun so I know if I can fuck with you or not?”
Um. No.
Thankfully… opinions amongst residents in Georgia are starting to wise up about gun control. Here are the latest results from a recent poll commissioned by 11Alive on the matter:
