Kentucky 52
Florida 69
Very good and much needed SEC win by the Gators. The good guys put up a great defensive effort even without the dominance that Will Yeguete would normally provide. We hope he is healling up well from his surgery…. we will need him soon. Patrick Young was a BEAST and even Calipari admitted he took away a big part of their game, but he also managed 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. Wilbekin led in scoring (14) and assists (8) on the evening. The Gators are now 20-3 overall and 10-1 in SEC play. More importantly, with this win, the Gators now have a 2 game lead in the SEC over 8-3 Alabama and Kentucky.
Noel took a big hit to his knee after attempting to block Rosarios shot. It looked nasty, but reports are there are no fractures so far. Gators every where wish him the best, but to those Kentucky fans who are blaming UF on this injury can go fuck yourselves.
Update: Noel has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. So in other words.. UF facilities had nothing to do with Noel getting hurt.
Florida will be on the road facing the (9-14) Auburn Tigers on Saturday 2/16/13 at 1:30 pm.
The Gators must stay focused… there is no time for big win hangovers.
