If you have never played guitar, it would be impossible to truly appreciate what a hand endures while just simply trying to produce a specific beautiful sound. Callouses form on the tips of fingers from constantly pressing against, strumming and sliding along thin wires. Fingers bend and contort in sometimes very uncomfortable postions to collectively form a single chord. Fingers dance along and across the guitar in acrobatic and often energetic fashion.
Today begins my series “Guitar Hands” which I will attempt to show just how beautiful and physical playing a guitar can be.
